Shortkut is the story of two strugglers, Raju (Arshad Warsi) who makes it big after stealing a script, and Shekhar (Akshaye Khanna) who carries on after his script is stolen. Raju goes on to be a superstar, while Shekhar goes about sulking and struggling yet again. But destiny brings them together as Shekhar is set to direct his first movie with superstar Raju as the lead.
